when you run kpgpg did you look in your system tray's hidden icons ? by default it's visibility is set to auto, in misc settings you can have it not open in system tray or in system tray settings change it's visibility to always visible

Another thing to try would be running kgpg in a terminal and seeing if it prints out any error messages as to why it is failing to start, if you cannot find it in the System Tray.

kgpg should start at start up of the computer but it can't:
it has a failure saying it can't start gnupg due to bad access right Due to this it does not start and does not appear in the task manager Afterwards when I then start kgpg in the console (or kgpg -k too, it does not work anymore as well) it say the same problem about access right On another computer with the exact same configuration the rights are the following
I don t know how to obtain it |

no idea but I would:
1) create and try as a new user 2) force re-install all gpg packages (I have about 5, but it's a diff distro) |

The correct directory to check the permissions of is ~/.gnupg/.
Please make sure it is "700" which appears in the output of "ls -l" as "drwx------".

hello folks
the same to me. i have the same issues here with the start of KGpg
i am running a fresh installed opensuse 12.3 please help me - this error is so hard - i cannot solve it. love to hear from you greetings background; i run opensuse 12.3 - and have some keys allready imporeted that. in other words i want them be managed with kgpg the bad thing is that the kgpg application does not start at all. if i click the ikon KGpg then the logo just gets visible on the screen for let me say 5 to ten seconds but it does not start. what can i do? Can i check the status of KGpg on the terminal!? I love to hear from you. note: i had the same issue one year ago; viewtopic.php?f=66&t=108808 the background: i just have installed all . and managed to import some credentials and key-rings of a other laptop. now i thought that it is the right time to invoke the Gpg -agent... "invoking the GPC-AGENT" , as a prerequisite for Thunderbird and enigmail . i think it is necessary to try to initially firing up the agent to run enigmail i am currently configuring all the prerequesites for the thunderbird and enigmail at the moment i have a vanilla-installation of opensuse 12.3 on my notebook - all is fresh - no old data or credentials are used. The whole systme is new and fresh. see the following data - of the operating system and the rest of fresh installation note - i do not need to import all the mails - i only need to import the credentials. and i have managed this. so to sume up what is gained: what is on the machine; - the following things:
again: well and i ve done a import of the credentials and password files into the KGpg in KGpg all the passwords are included. By the way - i do not want to use openPGP. i prefer the usage of KGpg The question now is: how to proceed the next steps are to look for the correct installation and configuring of gnupg.
please help me with the issue - it is the same to me. i have the same issues here with the start of KGpg
any and all help is greatly appreciated cheers unleash |

To use KGpg effectively, it is necessary to have a functional GPG Agent running first. Please see your other topic for more information on this topic.
