Hi,
This could be a question that has an obvious answer but I've been searching for a while now and am yet to find it. It used to be (quite a long time ago) that whenever you started typing a path into a path input field (such as in Dolphin or in the Filesystem area of KDevelop) it would give you a history of previously entered paths. There is also a down arrow to the far right of these fields that brings up the history as well. Nowadays my system is only remembering the history for the current session and seems to forget everything when I log out. I'd very much like it to remember paths I've entered from further back so I don't need to retype them every time but can't seem to find any settings relating to this. If anyone can offer some advice that would be much appreciated. Cheers - Ryan |

In the address bar right click -> text completion
it's not history of paths entered but list of paths that that start with what you've already typed |

I realise there is text completion but that is not what I'm after.
I often type in ftp locations as my path for example. Now in prior versions of KDE it would remember each of these and when I start typing them again the dropdown will offer them as suggestions. It currently does this as well but only remembers those which i have typed in this current session. I'm trying to get it so that that memory is persistent which surely must be doable and which was the behavior in KDE prior to 4. |

ahh, sorry don't do ftp and assumed you were just talking folder paths
when you say "prior to 4" you mean KDE 3.x not KDE 4.4 ? |
