kwalletd is running:

# ps aux | grep kwall
user 2404 0.0 0.8 418336 18236 ? S Aug22 0:10 kdeinit4: kwalletd [kdeinit]

However clicking the kwallet icon does nothing.

When attempting to launch the kwalletmanager from the command line, I get the following:
# kwalletmanager
unnamed app(14449): KUniqueApplication: Cannot find the D-Bus session server: "Did not receive a reply. Possible causes include: the remote application did not send a reply, the message bus security policy blocked the reply, the reply timeout expired, or the network connection was broken."

I've poked around and can't figure out what's wrong. I read somewhere that something unable to connect to the D-Bus server might require a reboot, but even that didn't help.

Can someone assist with this?

are you trying to run kwalletmanager as a different user?

Clicking the icon would run it as the user I'm logged in as wouldn't it?

Via the terminal, I've attempted running it as root and the user I'm logged in as.

in your 1st post the line "# kwalletmanager", the "# usually indicates Root user in Konsole

the error message usually indicates you have su'ed to a different user and are trying to run a gui app

actual example:

1) In Konsole I su to my test user
2) I run kwalletmanager
3) the output I get is:
unnamed app(4522): KUniqueApplication: Cannot find the D-Bus session server: "Did not receive a reply. Possible causes include: the remote application did not send a reply, the message bus security policy blocked the reply, the reply timeout expired, or the network connection was broken."

unnamed app(4521): KUniqueApplication: Pipe closed unexpectedly.

Does the following command return any response, or does it also give a timeout message?
