I've recently installed Linux Mint KDE and I'm pretty happy with it. The only thing that is currently bugging me is that I can't make Ctrl+Alt+T a shorcut for Guake. With the default key (F12) it works perfectly fine, but if I change it to Ctrl+Alt+T it won't show up. I've tried deleting every possible keyboard shortcut that I could find, but it still doesn't work. I've also posted this to the Mint forum, but no one answered.
Can anyone please help me ? |

Ctrl+Alt+T may be binded to something else, try to go to System Settings -> Shortcuts and Gestures -> Global Keyboard Shortcuts, choose any unset shortcut and assign it to Ctrl+Alt+T. If it complains, make a note of which shortcut it conflicts with, press Reassign, then set the shortcut back to None. Now you should be able to use Ctrl+Alt+T for Guake.
By the way, you should really look into Yakuake if you haven't already!

If you use xev, does it register the keyboard shortcut being pressed?

I have never previously heard about xev. Please detail what you wanted to say about xev.

Run
in a terminal, e.g. Konsole. You should get a white window. Move it so that you see the terminal output and press the shortcut. Does it register the shortcut? Also, does Ctrl+Alt+<other letters> work?

The key combination works by using it with Konsole. And yes, the xev sees it, but when I map it to Quake, it doesn't respond.

I see. To use it in Quake you very likely need to ensure it is unmapped in all other applications, particularly in the global KDE shortcuts, first.
Otherwise, this could be a bug within Quake.
