Hello all,

I am very new to linux. I have ubuntu 13.10 on a dual boot with windows 8.1. The hard drive is 1.5 TB. The partition that holds the linux distribution is 488 GB. When I log onto the ubuntu desktop it allows me an overall disk usage of 18 GB. I would like to access some of the other 470 GB on the partition to increase disk space. Mostly to keep ebooks and videos on the disk. I have run into a couple of instances where the operating system has warned me I am out of space. Can anyone either brief me on how to add disk space for file storage from the partition or direct me to some documentation that would walk me through the process? Thanks in advance.

bit confused you as a user are only allowed 18gb of storage out of the 488gb Linux? there is large amounts Linux storage free but not available to you?

could you post the contents of the file /etc/fstab
