I want to be able to connect to one of my Linux systems (Debian 7, 64 bit, KDE4 etc) from another Linux system using Xnest:
I have removed "-nolisten tcp" from kdmrc:
and from xserverrc:
and I have enabled xdmcp in kdmrc:
However, when I try to connect:
This used to be quite simple - have I just forgotten something, or has it been disabled by somebody who knows better what is good for me? |

Please check the relevant /etc/X11 configuration files - various distributions usually restrict XDMCP on a per-host basis even if TCP connections have been enabled for security reasons.

Hi bcooksley,
Sorry if I sounded rather negative in my original post - it is sometimes frustrating when things don't work, and you think you have covered everything. In the end it turned out to be Xaccess, I believe. Thanks for helping. |
