Why muon-updater asks for kdewallet access?
![]() First guess was that it uses Bogeda, but I use Ubuntu and KDE in Ubuntu hasn't been built with bogeda. Second was something about "social desktop" features and ratings in Ubuntu, but I don't see anything related to ratings in muon-updater. It is annoying, because then it asks for password again (user password a-la sudo), but my bug report is marked as invalid: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=330610 Is it bug in muon or in Ubuntu packaging? Or such annoyance is not considered a bug? I see no functionality in muon-updater that requires kdewallet. |

Marking the bug as invalid was correct in this case - as the passwords being requested are for two separate things.
One thing you could try is capturing Muon Updater with a debugger when the KWallet prompt opens and generating a backtrace of what it is doing at that time - which may indicate why it is trying to access the wallet.
