I right-click delete files instead of send to trashcan on Ntfs external usb drives.
They show deleted and no hidden files,etc.. like hidden .fuse files. But later on thumb shows of as an example an image I deleted and file name of .fuse_hidden0000001700000001. That did show or wasn't there before. Why are they being generated as have deleted the file. And no other programs are using the files I delete. This is an issue I would like to solve. As once I had run out of room on the external usb that I thought had plenty of room. Found out there were 4 video .fuse files eating up 4gb of space. Is there a know bug? about how .fuse files are handled on ntfs partitions or usb drives? Any help in resolving is appreciated. . |

These .fuse files are likely not being created by KDE or Dolphin. Do you know how your system is mounting this NTFS drive? My suspicion is that this behaviour is coming from the NTFS-3g driver. I would also recommend performing a disk check of this on a Windows system to verify the integrity of the filesystem.

Ummm didn't think it through. You are right at that would be a function underlying KDE & Dolphin.
Will look into it more and do as you suggest on checking drives integrity. And look into Ntfs-3g driver bugs issues. Thanks for pointing out my duh moment as sometimes these ole neurons need a kick to get started. . |
