Hi,
Recently I discovered that the logout/shutdown dialogs lack suspend/hibernate options even though my system is actually able to suspend:

1. I can succesfully suspend/resume my system by calling "sudo pm-suspend"
2. On session management "Offer shutdown options" is checked.
3.
Code: Select all
qdbus --system org.freedesktop.login1 /org/freedesktop/login1 org.freedesktop.login1.Manager.CanSuspend
responds with "challenge"
4.
Code: Select all
qdbus --system org.freedesktop.login1 /org/freedesktop/login1 org.freedesktop.login1.Manager.Suspend 1
pop ups an authentication dialog and then succesfully suspends the system.

Besides that here comes evidence of some misconfiguration:
1.
Code: Select all
upower -d
Daemon:
  daemon-version:  0.9.22
  can-suspend:     no
  can-hibernate:   no
  on-battery:      no
  on-low-battery:  no
  lid-is-closed:   no
  lid-is-present:  no
  is-docked:       yes

2. CTRL-ALT-DEL is not being intercepted by KDE/Xorg and pressing the key sequence calls "shutdown -r now" without any warning!. Don't know if it might be related to this problem, though.

Any advice?
thanks.

For Ctrl + Alt + Delete, please check logind / systemd - it is likely it's power management functionality which is causing the system to shutdown.
As for why Suspend and Hibernate options are missing, that is because UPower believes it to be the case I suspect. Once you fix UPower, KDE should show the options again.
Code: Select all
  can-suspend:     no
  can-hibernate:   no
