It seems i cant get my laptop to auto sleep / suspend at all. No problems suspending laptop from either menu or when closing its lid, it is only the auto suspend that causes trouble.

Read somewhere that it was the screen energy saving option that caused trouble (if it switched of the screen before suspend, computer could not suspend), so i tried switching that option off. No success there either. Auto suspend does not work either on battery or AC power.

I am quite unsure if this is a dist issue or a KDE issue, but some pointers would be welcome!

KDE platform 4.13.2 on OpenSUSE on a Asus ux32vd laptop.

Is Power Management able to take other actions (such as switching the screen off for instance)? Or does it do nothing at all?

Ok, figured this one out. The screen locker seems to be the problem. Can only get suspend to work with Simple Locker and not with the other two options (Desktop Widgets, Screen Saver).

Thanks for noting the solution. I'm not sure what level of support is given for Desktop Widgets or Screensaver i'm afraid - although it does seem unusual that they would block suspend/sleep.
