I have Linux Mint 17 KDE 64-bit.

I can not find "User and group administraion GUI tool" in "KDE - System Settings".
There is only "User Manager".

How can I manage users and groups with KDE, like I did in Mint 14 with old KDE?

I have the same problem. There are no tabs under User Manager - System Settings.

I found a helpful pocket book of commands here:
http://community.linuxmint.com/tutorial/view/454

Here are a few (Konsole) commands from that link that may help you until someone comes up with the GUI solution:

Users:

# id # Show the active user id with login and group
# last # Show last logins on the system
# who # Show who is logged on the system
# groupadd admin # Add group "admin" and user colin
# useradd -c "Colin Barschel" -g admin -m colin
# usermod -a -G # Add existing user to group (Debian)
# userdel colin # Delete user colin
# pw groupmod admin -m newmembe r # Add a new member to a group
# pw useradd colin -c "Colin Barschel" -g admin -m -s /bin/tcsh
# pw userdel colin; pw groupdel admin

I used userdel to delete a userid that somehow got created w/o a home directory. It kept showing up on the MDM login screen, and I could not find a way to login as that user nor delete the user until I found userdel.

Hope this helps.

I would wonder if it's distro specific, maybe originating in Ubuntu/Kubuntu, see: https://plus.googleapis.com/wm/4/+Grzeg ... LoSEMMevQi for another users experiences

would suggest posting on Mint or Kubuntu's forums and/or checking their bug system

I had to first install kuser. It must have been installed in Linux Mint 16 KDE and not in Linux Mint 17 KDE.
Groups tab does show with sudo kuser. User tab allows for add, edit, delete.
Group tab still does not show under System Settings - User Manager. Perhaps I need to
logout/login. I will check.

Thanks for the tip on kuser. That suits me fine. Don't know about OP though.

Edit: Logout/login does not change System Settings - User Manager.

This link includes the kuser.desktop file to add to usr/share/kde4 directory so that kuser appears in System Settings.
In my view that solves the GUI problem.

Google01103 I tried to use the Problem Solved link you have but it did not work for me.
