I am running kalarm with logs sent to my home directory file named toggle_mute.log. Command success/failure is accurately logged there but sendmail is not sending them to my email account.
In my Kalarm configuration I specify use sendmail to rcburness.noreply@gmail.com. Nothing gets sent. In Konsole I can issue the command sendmail rcburness.noreply@gmail.com < /home/rob/toggle_mute.log and I receive the toggle_mute.log in my gmail account. I use Thunderbird and gmail rather than Kmail. I am running Linux Mint 17 KDE (64 bit), Kalarm 2.10.10-ak., KDE 4.13.2. Other reports I Googled said it was a bug in sendmail with no further explanation. Is there a place I can look for the status of Kalarm/sendmail commands? A copy of my file toggle_mute.log:
I tried to submit a bug report to KDE using the Launch Bug Report Wizard tab under Help in Kalarm and got this for my effort (using Google Chrome): https://bugs.kde.org/enter_bug.cgi?form ... 2.10.10-ak This webpage is not available I tried several times, gave up and thought I would post here to get some help. Seems the bug reporter in KDE Apps is a bit buggy itself ;->

KDE Bugzilla was down for a server move and system upgrade yesterday, which is why you got the page you did.
As for why sendmail isn't working - have you tried checking your local MTA logs to ensure it is running and not encountering problems delivering your email?

Thank you for the information on system being down for routine maintenance. Many sites provide that information when they know in advance they will be down. I suppose they have their reasons for not doing so or perhaps I missed it. The only MTA log I find is /var/log/mail.log. It contains entries from when I run sendmail from Konsole but not for Kalarm. Kalarm worked at 7am this morning but did not send an email. Should I be looking somewhere else for MTA logs? Here is what my mail.log looks like. Line numbers are prefixes from the editor I use. I just ran sendmail from Konsole. It shows up:
When would be a good time to report this bug?

The downtime was advertised on several KDE mailing lists in this case - although it wasn't visible on the site itself.
Bug reports can now be filed at any time. Can you please check to see if KAlarm is attempting to run the command at all? (Perhaps use a simple wrapper script which touches a file for instance).

KAlarm is working as far as executing the command is concerned. However the sendmail option is not working. Per your suggestion I submitted this simple script for KAlarm to execute and it works yet sendmail does not send a message.
It logs to a file I set up named /home/rob/KAlarm.log with errors until I set the permission to execute:
I am specifying KAlarm use sendmail, but no mail is sent: https://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/630x585q90/905/9f18e9.jpg I hope I posted the above screen shot properly. Again KAlarm executes the command. It just does not send the email using sendmail. Does KAlarm provide a log? Nothing in /var/log/syslog as there is with Cron.

For a KAlarm log you will need to run "kdebugdialog" and enable all areas. Then either start KAlarm in a terminal, or tail ~/.xsession-errors to observe any output which is generated.
