User specific suspend scripts?

Thu Sep 25, 2014 7:25 pm
Hi there,

there are system wide scripts that get executed when suspending the system.

But, does KDE allow to define user bound scripts that get executed when user X suspend?

What about ~/.kde4//shutdown do the scripts there get executed only when leaving KDE or also at system suspend?

Thanks!

The scripts in ~/.kde4/shutdown/ are only executed when logging out of KDE unfortunately.
At this time i'm not aware of any KDE specific mechanism to execute scripts on suspend.

You could write a Python script which listens to D-Bus events though and use it to execute your scripts - I believe UPower emits a signal when it's about to suspend the system now (or maybe that is when the system is resuming...)
