Power management

Thu Nov 27, 2014 6:05 am
Hi,

In the past with current KDE configuration when battery level was low then my linux got automatically hibernated.

Now when battery is low my LAPTOP turns off without saving currently opened documents etc... I don't know what may be the reason of such behavior, do you?

On 'Enery Power Savings' -> 'On low battery' tab there is:
- display brightness
- dim display
- screen energy saving
- suspend session
- button events handling
- run script

I don't see there any option that would be equal to running hibernate on low batter level as it previously did ALWAYS. From some time it started turning off, not hibernating. Now when battery is low (or empty) it turns off. Do you know the reason?

Thanks for help.

EDIT: I'd like to add that in 'Advanced Settings' -> 'Configure advanced Power Management settings' option 'HIbernate' is selected on 'When battery is at critical level', but it looks like this option is ignored;

If you enable "Suspend Session" then it will let you select the amount of time as well as the action to take. This includes the possibility of sleeping, hibernating or shutting down the system.
