zombie virus

Tue Dec 02, 2014 1:39 am
my system kubuntu 14.10 sounded running a bit rough. i opened up escape from program window and it tells me 'zombie' is running in kwallet. wondering 1. how to get rid of it. 2. uninstalling or disabling kwallet altogether, as i do nor have much use for it.
how do i go about this? i have tried normal methods but it says 'security system' prevents me from disabling!!!

Zombie = http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zombie_process

Find out its pid http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Process_identifier (you can activate the PID column by right clicking on the header row in the system activity window) and kill it with
Code: Select all
kill -9 _pid_

There is nothing to be afraid of here - zombie processes are a normal phenomenon and a key part of program management on your computer. They normally do not stay around for very long and do not consume any resources (they're basically an accounting entry which has yet to be cleaned up).
