When I go into Regional Settings > Date & Time and try to change the timezone the application freezes when I klick the "Apply" button. Normally a kdesu dialog should appear, but this doesn't happen.

First I thought there was something wrong with kdesu, but launching kdesu systemsettings5 (to avoid bringing up the kdesu dialog) when pressing the "Apply" button causes the same freeze of the Settings app with CPU going up to 100%.

I checked the logs and found the following line hinting where the problem lies:

dbus-daemon[982]: dbus[982]: [system] Activated service 'org.kde.kcontrol.kcmclock' failed: Cannot launch daemon, file not found or permissions invalid

Can anybody help me out please. Thanks.

Never mind, found the problem!

[root@chabich system.d]# more /usr/share/dbus-1/system-services/org.kde.kcontrol.kcmclock.service

[D-BUS Service]
Name=org.kde.kcontrol.kcmclock
Exec=/usr//usr/libexec/kf5/kauth/kcmdatetimehelper
User=root

During the update to KDE5 the system somehow fiddled another /usr/ into the .service file. Removing the culprit fixed the problem.
