Hi,
I run Debian and KDE is my preferred desktop environment and I often have occasion to install new virtual machines. I'm wondering what is the most efficient way to automate the few dozen tasks that I need to go through after a new installation of (Debian) KDE? The steps include adjusting system settings, installing various packages, and configuring them. In order to write a bash script I would need to know the programmatic way of doing each task. That's straightforward enough for downloading and installing packages. However, for steps that might be done in the graphical interface, it isn't so apparent. For example, when I set folder view, wallpaper, icon size and behavior, and so on, is there a way to discover what is going on behind the scenes that might be pasted into a script. I understand that in Gnome they have gsettings and "dconf watch /" but I have been unable to find any equivalent approach to these in KDE. Maybe someone has already addressed such a need by creating a specialized tool for such a purpose? Thanks in advance for any help.. Cheers, Robert |
