Kate 5 syntax highlighting for PHP

Tue May 19, 2015 10:53 am
After installing Xubuntu 15.04 (yeah, I admit, I prefer Xfce as DE ;)), I experienced a very bright style of syntax highlighting for PHP files. Variable names are so bright that they can barely be read.

I'm not sure if this is expected behaviour, or if there are files missing, or if the highlighting rules are broken in some way.

I tried switching to different schemes (KDE, printing, solarized), but they are also unusable. For some strange reason, the “KDE” scheme appears to be be completely broken, with large portions of dark text on a dark background.

Can somebody say if this highlighting scheme is intentional? Or what I can do to fix this?

“Fixed” by deleting the ~/.kde folder. :-\
