Using KScreen or alike without KDE

Tue Aug 11, 2015 1:38 pm
Hello,

I'm a long time KDE user, but since I always look for new experiences I'm currently giving the i3 tiling window manager a try.

I still want to use KDE applications, so I load kmix and klipper at startup which works fine. Is there a way to use the KDE screen management component to manage screens on other desktops? I tried krandrtray which is very neat, but found no way to restore / set a configuration on startup. Furthermore, I've read somewhere that it's development has ceased.

kscreen-console does not seem to have a way of setting screen configurations. Is there a way to use KDE screen management on other window managers? I talk about restoring / remembering configurations and some GUI part for configurations.

Thanks!
