Link highlight? (Kate).

Sun Oct 04, 2015 12:43 am
Hi! :)

Is it possible (at Kate), to make an (http) link clickable or at least to highlight it? (as Konsole does).
I can always select it and copy-paste to browser (for opening it), but I'm wondering if there is a more automatic way (as at Konsole, who marks it with underscore and make it clickable).

If it is not possible, is there any other (gui based, not console) Linux editor (maybe, a QT based one), who does it?
TIA! :)

From your choice, one would guess that you're not trying to do word processing (or you would have selected one of those applications, at the outset) but instead, are taking notes or memos that need references to linked data, elsewhere on your system or perhaps on the internet?

I use Cherry Tree for that purpose. It has the added advantage of keeping many notes in a searchable format as well as providing both 'clickable' and embedded hyperlinks. Yes, I know this is a KDE forum, and Cherry Tree is not KDE software ... if there is a KDE application that fits your specifications, perhaps someone with more knowledge might 'chime in'.

This application is compatible with KDE's 'Save Session / Restore Session' functionality, however.
