Hello,

I had Kubuntu 14 and everything was working fine. When I installed Kubuntu version 15 with KDE 4.14.6 I cannot switch off my screen locking. Everything in Power Management is off, yet after 2 minutes the screen locks and after 5 minutes it turns off. I did not make any changes in BIOS, nor on my LCD screen. I also have the same problem on a laptop.

Here is my ubuntu forum thread, is there anyone who can help?

Thanks,
Richlion

configure screenlocker on KDE4
Code: Select all
kcmshell4 screensaver

or KDE5 (I've no idea what ubuntu currently ships and it's pretty normal to have parts of KDE4 and KDE5 in use)
Code: Select all
kcmshell5 screenlocker

Thank you very much. This works, although I am surprised there is no option to stop this completely.

Humm? You mean the screen turning off?
That's an X11 feature (afair powerdevil allows you to control it, but must be activated for this)

Just run "xset -dpms", "xset +dpms" re-enables it.
The setting is not persistent, so you will have to execute it with every login, eg. in an environment script in ~/.kde/env or ~/.config/plasma-workspace/env (for KDE4 resp. KDE5)
