Basically what happens, is every time I load into KDE, my username appears outside of the login box for about 10+ seconds. During this time, the login box is plain text.. and I can't login until it corrects itself. I was wondering if anyone has any ideas of things I might be able to try to fix this.. maybe removing some cache file or something. I don't know. It's driving me insane though.. it adds an extra 10+ seconds to my boot time, and it happens every time I load into KDE.

I'm on Mint 17.2 using default KDE 4.14.2. I have submitted a bug report already on the bug tracker, but obviously there's no guarantee this is going to get fixed, or that the fix is going to make its way into Mint.

MDM is a new Display Manager, which code is based on GDM 2.20...

Maybe a Mint/Gnome forums can help on this ?

Older KDE display manager is KDM - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/KDE_Display_Manager. Current is the SDDM - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Simple_De ... ay_Manager
