Hello,
I am having an issue trying to access the KUser system tool in Fedora 23 workstation, KDE Plasma 5.5.0. Upon launching the program, it prompts asking for credentials via KDESudo, which I put in successfully, and then it launches as a blank window frame. For example, http://i.imgur.com/bJcRGiv.png I have searched the forum and have not seen anything that resembles this issue and it may be a bug. Are there any known fixes for this that are not stated elsewhere? Sincerely, ClassANetwork

if you run it in Konsole are any messages listed? are you using kdesudo?
try reinstalling the package |

When running not as root through Konsole, it says it has an issue reading /etc/shadow.
However, it will run correctly and display the contents within the window frame. When running as root, it will not display anything but the blank window frame. I've also ran with KDESudo with the same issue as running it as root under Konsole. I will try to re-install the package to see if this resolves the issue. I should also write what package is causing this issue for any future lurkers as well.
Edit: Re-installing the package in Fedora 23 did not work. I am still having the same issues. I haven't been able to test this build of kuser on any other machines, so I am not sure if it's a dependency issue specific to Fedora 23 or if it's a universal issue. I guess I could try to replicate it in a VM to be sure. |

Yep, Dolphin works running as root. The solution you posted above seems to work. Thanks! I would assume this is an issue with a dependency across multiple applications if they seem to be running into the same issues. (Maybe Qt?) Edit: Yep, it has to do with Qt 4 not allowing applications to run as root. https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1236528
