Dot as decimal separator in KCalc

Tue Apr 26, 2016 10:05 am
Hello.

I prefer dot as the decimal separator instead of the comma.
I read that to change the separator in KCalc I have to change the separator in KDE in general. No problem.
Or is there... I read that to change the separator in KDE I have to go to Formats and change it there. But I can't see how. In the "Numbers" section I can only choose countries instead of formats... Same with all other sections.

Any suggestions?

what you are referring to is from KDE 4

as best I can tell you would have to change "Numbers" to a country that used your preferred format assuming there was one

you can post a wishlist on bugs.kde.org if one does not currently exist

My KDE version is 4.14.18 and Plasma's is 5.5.5 (OS = openSUSE Leap 42.1 x64). Is that not the most recent?

As for the countries, is it possible to check a country without relogging? Because I get a message that the changes will be visible after relog and there are maaany countries so I don't want to spend all night on this task.

how are you running 4.14.18 and Plasma 5.5.5 in Leap? are you running Wolfie's repo? How did you determine this? try again using Kinfocenter

the KCM has a preview (called "Examples", look at your pic), Chile looks what you want for numbers
