GnuPG Decryption failed

Sat Apr 30, 2016 11:32 am
Hi

I'm seeing this error when trying to open an encrypted file instead of being prompted to enter the passphrase.

For background information I've just done a clean install of Kubuntu 16.04. This is a process I've done many times and as part of the process I use KGpg to export my original keyfile and then import it into the new system and everything works as before.

The encrypted file I'm having a problem with is for KMyMoney, but I suspect this is nothing to do with KMyMoney but related to the GnuPG/pinentry system. If the moderators believe otherwise please move this to the KMyMoney forum.

Normally on opening the file in KMyMoney I see a prompt asking me to enter my passphrase, instead I get the error:
The following error was encountered while decrypting file /home/nick/Documents/KMyMoney/456.kmy: Decryption failed

Just to confirm, gpg-agent is running and pinentry-qt is installed. I've rebooted my system several times but still get the same error.

Does anyone have any suggestions, perhaps something hasn't been installed which should be?

Many thanks

Nick
