I have blacklisted nouveau driver as i want to be able to make my laptop silent while in the evening i watch movie.
However since Kubuntu 16.04 it seems that proprietary NVIDIA drivers have some issue to allow laptop to be silent as it was under Kubuntu 15.04 ![]() My problem occurs exactly if i use drivers supplied by ubuntu ![]()

what makes you think it's because of the drivers? it's the fans that make noise. i guess your room is warmer now than it was in winter. or it might be a fan parameter which is set to make fans whirl all the time. the problem might be your hardware.
what does it have to do with the topic? |
