I have blacklisted nouveau driver as i want to be able to make my laptop silent while in the evening i watch movie.
However since Kubuntu 16.04 it seems that proprietary NVIDIA drivers have some issue to allow laptop to be silent as it was under Kubuntu 15.04 My problem occurs exactly if i use drivers supplied by ubuntu this is something i do not understand in fact as under Kubuntu 15.04/15.10 it was ok

what makes you think it's because of the drivers? it's the fans that make noise. i guess your room is warmer now than it was in winter. or it might be a fan parameter which is set to make fans whirl all the time. the problem might be your hardware.
what does it have to do with the topic? |
