I have some issues under Kubuntu 16.04 with Driver Manager. In fact it does not display any information and always say it collects data... but it can last forever in fact :(
How can i solve this issue, knowing that yesterday some update has been done on my video driver NVidia and brang problems that i had to solve reinstalling driver 352 :(

I know this thread as i opened it but everytime i will have the same issue because i have NVidia card ??? that's crazy.
Moreover i see drivers but i would like to understand why every time i would have to reinstall 352 and not upgrading...

I have blacklisted nouveau driver as i want to be able to make my laptop silent while in the evening i watch movie.
However since Kubuntu 16.04 it seems that proprietary NVIDIA drivers have some issue to allow laptop to be silent as it was under Kubuntu 15.04 :(

My problem occurs exactly if i use drivers supplied by ubuntu :( this is something i do not understand in fact as under Kubuntu 15.04/15.10 it was ok

what makes you think it's because of the drivers? it's the fans that make noise. i guess your room is warmer now than it was in winter. or it might be a fan parameter which is set to make fans whirl all the time. the problem might be your hardware.

what does it have to do with the topic?
