I have window rules that apply a set size initially for Kate. Normally when I change the size and then close it. The next time I open it it will open the size I set in the window rules. Now it opens the size I last closed it at. I tried making the class from exact match of kate kate to a substring match of kate, but that didn't help. Anybody know what changed, and if there's something I can do?

Kate's session management may be contributing.
To disable Kate enforcing its own window management, in Kate go to Settings -> Configure Kate ... -> Application -> Sessions -> turn off "Include window configuration"
