Hello everyone

Since I am using KDE on two machines now, I would like to use the same private gpg-key on both machines.

Hence, I exported the private key with kgpg (mykey.asc) and copied it to the other machine.
Importing the key with kgpg yields an error (could not be imported) but the key is showing up in the list. So I imported the key again (after deleting it) using the commandline gpg --import mykey.asc. No errors listed.
Refreshing the list in kgpg shows the imported key.

Now I want to create a new passwordstore using kwalletmanager5, select gpg, but the wizard tells me that I dont have any key available.

What would be the correct way to create a new passwordstore with an imported key?

Thanks

Figured it out.

The key wasn't trusted enough. I had to export the ownertrust-flag from the original machine and import this as well.

Export
Code: Select all
gpg --export-ownertrust > trust.txt

Import
Code: Select all
gpg --import-ownertrust < trust.txt

It would be great if the UI could give some hint about this rather than an error when creating a new passwordstore. "You have a key which is not trusted! Do this and that"
