Hello guys,

I just upgraded to Fedora 24, and I use Konqueror to do file management.

There used to be 2 nice options I loved, one was to be able to select "Double-Click" to open files. This has somehow disappeared, they now open with a single left-mouse button click. The other option I loved was to be able to change the icon and preview sizes. That appears to be also gone.

Any chance that I can configure these options in a different location somewhere ? maybe the XML file ?

thanks a lot.

Your Konqueror version ?

At here, released Konqueror:
Code: Select all
$ konqueror -v
Qt: 4.8.7
KDE Development Platform: 4.14.23
Konqueror: 4.14.22

Unreleased git snapshot:
Code: Select all
$ konqueror -v
Qt: 5.7.0
KDE Frameworks: 5.25.0
Konqueror: 5.25.0

Wolfgang Bauer wrote of the Konqueror release: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=367074#c5
So it would even be better to port Konqueror to KF5, I'd say, which would use the latest KF5 based dolphin.
And this has happened already anyway, 16.12.0 (i.e. the next feature release, as 16.08.0 is being released today) will include the KF5 based Konqueror AFAIK which then will also use the KF5 settings of course.

The KDE4 Konqueror has the mouse options at the Konqueror settings:

Image

The KF5 based Konqueror is using the KDE System Settings to set the mouse single/double click mode - Same as with the Dolphin: Double-click to open folders in Dolphin - viewtopic.php?f=223&t=128669 .

The KF5 is saving the mouse settings to the ~/.config/kdeglobals (*)

Code: Select all
[KDE]
SingleClick=true

or

Code: Select all
[KDE]
SingleClick=false

At here, both the KDE4/Qt4 and the KF5/Qt5 version of the Konqueror are showing the icon and preview sizes at the Konqueror settings: Konqueror Settings - File manager - View Modes...

I thank you very much, I was able to set the mouse double-click setting, however since I am on Xfce, it has not taken effect, maybe next reboot ..... oh well....

However, regarding View Modes, as you can see, my Konqueror menu is very different than yours, I don't know why. Maybe I am missing some libs.

Konqueror: 4.14.21

AHA !!!!!!!

Solved it !
Installed:
dolphin4.x86_64 16.04.3-1.fc24

And that seems to have fixed the missing options. Too bad, I thought Konqueror was standalone.
Now to solve the double-click issue, maybe I need to re-log in using KDE, make sure the settings take, and then go back to Xfce.

I guess the connundrum stems from the fact that installing FC24, and then doing "yum group install kde-desktop" mixes things up. i.e. I get probably dolphin for KDE4, and Konqueror for KDE5 by default, or viceversa.
