I have made sure the settings are correct, but I still am not able to see preview thumbnails for files inside any file managers. At the moment I am using Dolphin and both internal and external images and videos only show generic icons.
I also have a secondary issue, which is that my system hangs while transferring files between usb hard drives. Other system processes stall until the transfer is complete. Any help is appreciated! inxi -Fxz System: Host: mvaio Kernel: 4.7.3-1-MANJARO x86_64 (64 bit gcc: 6.1.1) Desktop: KDE Plasma 5.7.4 (Qt 5.7.0) Distro: Manjaro Linux Machine: System: Sony (portable) product: SVF15213CDB v: C10HSUXE Mobo: Sony model: VAIO UEFI [Legacy]: Insyde v: R0230DA date: 02/24/2015 Battery BAT1: charge: 40.7 Wh 100.0% condition: 40.7/42.3 Wh (96%) model: SONY VGP-BPS35A status: Full CPU: Dual core Intel Core i5-3337U (-HT-MCP-) cache: 3072 KB flags: (lm nx sse sse2 sse3 sse4_1 sse4_2 ssse3 vmx) bmips: 7186 clock speeds: max: 2700 MHz 1: 893 MHz 2: 805 MHz 3: 895 MHz 4: 828 MHz Graphics: Card: Intel 3rd Gen Core processor Graphics Controller bus-ID: 00:02.0 Display Server: X.Org 1.18.4 driver: intel Resolution: 1366x768@60.00hz GLX Renderer: Mesa DRI Intel Ivybridge Mobile GLX Version: 3.0 Mesa 12.0.2 Direct Rendering: Yes Audio: Card Intel 7 Series/C210 Series Family High Definition Audio Controller driver: snd_hda_intel bus-ID: 00:1b.0 Sound: Advanced Linux Sound Architecture v: k4.7.3-1-MANJARO Network: Card-1: Broadcom BCM43142 802.11b/g/n bus-ID: 07:00.0 IF: N/A state: N/A mac: N/A Card-2: Realtek RTL8111/8168/8411 PCI Express Gigabit Ethernet Controller driver: r8168 v: 8.040.00-NAPI port: 2000 bus-ID: 0e:00.0 IF: enp14s0 state: up speed: 100 Mbps duplex: full mac: <filter> Drives: HDD Total Size: 18253.6GB (55.7% used) ID-1: /dev/sda model: Samsung_SSD_850 size: 250.1GB ID-2: USB /dev/sdc model: My_Book_1230 size: 4000.8GB ID-3: USB /dev/sdd model: 001 size: 3000.6GB ID-4: USB /dev/sdf model: Ext_HDD_1021 size: 2000.4GB ID-5: USB /dev/sdb model: HD103SI size: 1000.2GB ID-6: USB /dev/sde model: Backup+_Desk size: 8001.6GB Partition: ID-1: / size: 221G used: 11G (5%) fs: ext4 dev: /dev/sda1 ID-2: swap-1 size: 9.45GB used: 0.00GB (0%) fs: swap dev: /dev/sda2 Sensors: System Temperatures: cpu: 53.0C mobo: N/A Fan Speeds (in rpm): cpu: N/A Info: Processes: 200 Uptime: 14:26 Memory: 1421.2/7870.1MB Init: systemd Gcc sys: 6.2.1 Client: Shell (bash 4.3.461) inxi: 2.3.1 |

Based on https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Manjaro_Linux :
-> Using Arch wiki links KDE preview thumbnail Plugin The KDE applications can show a thumbnail for a file if there is a thumb creator plugin installed for the file type. Do you have the kio, kio-extras installed ? Optional: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Do ... e_previews
From Arch Forums - [SOLVED] No wallpaper preview on desktop settings in KDE: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=206500 Enable After installation the plugin need to be enabled. (Ctrl - m) Dolphin > Settings > Configure Dolphin > General > Previews or Control > Configure Dolphin > General > Previews What tells:

Yes I have kio and kio-extras installed, and I selected every box in the Dolphin preview options. After installing ffmpeg package, one of the drives now has video thumbnails, but not even main HD shows image thumbs.
