Status of Kiosk-Administration

Sat Feb 11, 2017 3:23 pm
Hi,
I´m a teacher and would like to set up special users for examinations using notebooks with kde.

I found the kiosk administration tool and tried it, but I didn´t find any ways to select software that may be used or configure the start menu. I was under the impression that kiosk is not production-ready for KDE 5.8 (I´m using 5.8.5).

So I´d like to know what the status for kiosk administration is, if there is a dev-version which I can download + compile myself, or are there different ways to achieve what I want with KDE?

Thanks for your help,

Andreas

I don't know if there is a tool but the plasma-devel mailing list has a recent (Dec 2016) topic: 'status of kde/plasma kiosk framework in kf5': https://mail.kde.org/pipermail/plasma-d ... 62899.html

Earlier KDE Forums (kiosk & KF5):
- How to DISABLE switch user function: viewtopic.php?f=289&t=137449
- Hide New Session button: viewtopic.php?f=67&p=368114#p368114

Thank you, that´s a good starting point - esp. as the author of the post is working on the same subject as myself.
