Edit the Restart Menu

Fri Jun 23, 2017 7:20 am
Hi,

with the Menu Editor i can't edit the Restart Menu. How can i do this? I want to add a second Button there so use 'grub-reboot' to boot directly into an other OS on my MultiBoot-System.

kde-open --version says i'm on kde 4.14 (plasma 5). it linux mint 18 with all updates, without the upgrade to 18.1.

i mean the second screenshot. here i want to add a button to reboot to an other os.

Versions

You could find the version information from the KInfoCenter: https://www.kde.org/applications/system/kinfocenter/

Plasmashell version:
Code: Select all
plasmashell -v

There are two set of the some applications. There are 'kde-open' and 'kde-open5'. The 'kde-open5 is released with the plasma 5.

Shutdown dialog

By the New QML Shutdown Dialog in 4.9.0: http://lamarque-lvs.blogspot.fi/2012/02 ... n-490.html
There should be:
Code: Select all
signal rebootRequested2(int opt)

The opt parameter in rebootRequested2 contains the index of the chosen boot option in the reboot menu...

With the plasma 5.10.2 - /usr/share/plasma/look-and-feel/org.kde.breeze.desktop/contents/logout/Logout.qml has those. With a quick test at here...

I can add a button there (you will need to edit the qml script) but the 'rebootRequested2' doesn't seem to work at here.

The easiest

The easiest way is to add your 'grub-reboot' command to the Kickoff applications menu.
