KUser

Sat Jul 29, 2017 7:46 pm
I'm looking for where it was announced that KUser is no longer supported (plain english, dead). This would be helpful to explain to OpenMandriva users why KUser disappeared.

Also does anyone know it there will be a replacement for KUser?

About a year ago: Dropping kdelibs4-based applications in KDE Applications 17.12 - https://marc.info/?l=kde-core-devel&m=1 ... 501598&w=2

Short:
The Kuser is at the drop list (not ported to the KF5) ... and later in the thread:
Kuser ... is replaced for basic use cases by Plasma's user-manager (but no LDAP support iirc),
so at least some users are covered.

Really short:
Not enough developers.

...we don't simply drop old apps,
instead, we would show that we care to bring along as many apps as we
can.

Of course, this would only work if we find enough developers that join
such an event.
