When I plug in my USB stick, it gets an entry in Dolphin but when I click on it I get a rather unspecific error message - something about exit status 32, and a whole host of potential reasons the disk cannot be read.

However, using the following command in bash which I got from the Arch Linux wiki:

sudo mount -o gid=users,fmask=113,dmask=002 /dev/sdb1 /mnt/usb

...the disk mounts and I can then access it in Dolphin!

What's going wrong here? How can I bypass using bash?
