Konqueror & fsview

Sun Aug 27, 2017 5:39 pm
I have upgraded my system to 42.3, but not all that happy!!
Konqueror displays directory content using fsview, which is completely useless, how do I get back to the GREAT interface of just file names & directories.
I can open Dolphin but this just not feel right to me.

Thanks guys,
Frank

You should be able to change the view mode by going to View -> View Mode and then selecting either Icons, Details or Compact depending on your taste (default for file system browsing is usually Icons). If those options are missing then you may still be missing packages.

Out of curiosity I wonder what about Dolphin doesn't feel right to you? Of course I understand there are a lot of users who just like Konqueror's look and/or feel more than Dolphin and that's fine too.

Another nitpick is that you mentioned a version (42.3) but didn't mention what you upgraded to that version. I'm inclined to assume OpenSuse as that is the only project I am aware of which has recent version numbers around there, but in general it is better to be explicit as there are a lot of projects around which may have similar version numbers.
