Hello,
It seems there are different locations to indicate an application to start automatically on reboot. Autostart menu (System Settings > Workspace > Startup and Shutdown > Autostart). Sometimes Firefox starts automatically yet it is (listed and) not enabled in this menu. Autostart path (System Settings > Personalization > Applications > Locations) . There are some shortcuts. System Settings > Workspace > Startup and Shutdown > Desktop Session set to "on login" Restore previous session KTorrent starts automatically yet there are no traces of it in these locations. Closing the window simply erases the window but the program stays in memory. It shows an icon in the panel if set to show. Why is it loading automatically and how to make it load on demand? |

If you have this setting, then anything running when you log out or shut down will run at login. There is a section here where you can manually specify programs to exclude from this - add "ktorrent" (without the caps) herre, or you can switch to running an empty session instead, where no running programs are started at login You should be able to configure ktorrent it is settings menus to shut down when closing the window, but iirc the default is to run in the background.
