Hey all !
I'm not sure I'm in the right section, feel free to move my post if not. I just installed Kubuntu, and it prompts me with the usual 'Choose how to store passwords' every time I launch Chromium. It offers me the choice between KWallet and BlowFish. I've postponed that for the moment, and I want to choose the right option. I have chosen KWallet in the past, and it would ask for my password every time I was launching Chromium, which is annoying. I don't know the workings of the KDE password management and would like to be more informed/guided to make a choice that will not result in having to type my password every time I open up Chromium. Can someone help me with that ? Thanks a lot ! |

Two options -
KWallet can be set to stay open as long as any application that uses it is still active. Proviso - I'm not sure whether this means KDE apps only or does include Chromium. Have not used Chromium for some time but I recall that passwords saved in KWallet are "encrypted" or similar. Otherwise use a blank ie no password for KWallet and it will not ask for it yet will always be available - though this leaves your saved passwords open to access. |
