Display turns off while set not to

I have power management set to not turn off the display but tonight I walked away from the computer for awhile & came back to a blue screen on my monitor, which it does when there's no signal. I moved my mouse & it all came back. It also rerouted the audio from the HDMI to the laptop speakers. I had to pulseaudio -k to get it back.

Not sure why, or how to prevent it again.

OS
You might also check the Screen Locker settings as that may be set to automatically lock after a certain amount of time (though I think that is off by default
