Kwalletmanager stopped working - it hangs

Kubuntu 17.10 here
After today's regular software update I restarted my computer and Google Chrome stopped working basically. Reading its messages in the console I figured out that the reason probably - is its integration with KWallet. I tried to run kwalletmanager5 and it took ages before its screen finally appeared and it was emtpy - i.e. w/o my keys.
I tried to create a new wallet and the app just hanged.

I ran kwalletmanager5 in the command line but didn't get something useful.

Not sure is it related or not, but here is what I see in my syslog:
