Hi,

I frequently open ZIP files containing .odt (LibreOffice writer) files. When I open the .odt file from Ark, the Ark internal viewer opens instead of LibreOffice Writer. Then I have to right click on the file, select "Ouvrir avec..." (Open with), select Writer from the application list and check the option to save this association (see screenshot). Then Ark on the file correctly with LibreOffice Writer.

Now if I simply close LibreOffice and open again the .odt file from Ark it doesn't open LibreOffice and open the file with its internal viewer. It seems that the file association previously set is ignored.

Configuration (Manjaro Linux):
Ark Version 18.8.0
KDE Frameworks 5.49.0
Qt 5.11.1 (construit sur 5.11.1)
Le système de fenêtres xcb

In my opinion Plasma has general problem with saving setting. There are a lot of bugs for different elements not saving settings

As David asked in my bug report all issues should be reported separately in appropriate place.

Maybe this will help in your case

But one remark, files in /home/user don't need to be open with sudo.
