??? I am searching for how to create a 5th or logical partition where I started out with 4 with a Kubuntu 14.04 desktop.
I have 2 Win 10 partitions (maybe one could be subordinated as logical to sda1?).
I have a Kubuntu sda3 and a separate home sd4.
Attached is a png screenshot.
I want to add an 18.04 Neon.
Suggestions?

I want to migrate to Neon on 18.04 on both desktop and Asus laptop (currently running Neon 16.04).

Unfortunately, an update last night did not go well for Kubuntu
It tells me it is loading initial ramdisk (for 4.2.8-42-generic, the only kernel that's worked for me for many months). Then nothing. I deleted "quiet" but that did not yield more info.

Using KDE Partition Editor I shrank space around Kubuntu and home.
Next I plan to use Clonezilla to back those up to the 2TB hard drive.

I can email a PNG image of the partition table.
I have not found a way to attach it to my post

I am more than part way there to solving the issue. I have a working system again.

Clonezilla successfully backed up both the non-booting Kubuntu and the separate home directory.
Then I deleted their sda3 and sda4 using Partition Mgr in a live DVD for Kubuntu 14.04.
On the laptop I downloaded the Aug 23 Neon 18.04 preview ISO and burned it on a DVD connected by USB.

I used Partition Mgr in a live DVD for Kubuntu 14.04 to create an extended sda3 and then added to it logical partitions:
sda5 for installing Neon
sda6 for restoring separate home
sda7 for restoring non-booting Kubuntu
(actually I had trouble with Errors and used "properties" to add file type ext4 and labels for sda6 and sda7)

I booted the Neon ISO and installed 18.04 User preview with no issues.
With Clonezilla I restored /home and Kubuntu
Now I am trying to recall and searching for how I used /etc/fstab to have that separate home directory.
If I have trouble, I will put in a separate request for help.

My work is not elegant, but successful in the limited time I have....
