How can we add a "create new .lyx document" shortcut in Dolphin on Kde Plasma Version 5.6.4?

I might be willing to ask the same question for other apps in the future (probably I will need Texmaker as well - but is there a way to do it for any possible app?

It's kind of sad that some apps just don't offer the possibility to do it during the installation, but I guess that's because Zypper cannot handle all these little tweaks with a single command and needs to stick to defaults (I'm speaking as a long-time Windows user and a Linux novice here).

As additional info, I'm using OpenSuSE 15.0.

The 'Create New' menu



information is read from the .desktop files from the 'templates' directories:

/usr/share/templates/
$HOME/.local/share/templates/

Summary:
This patch adds the support for templates in the XDG_TEMPLATES_DIR location...
As is all templates have to be a .desktop file...

As default the ~/.config/user-dirs.dirs has:

XDG_TEMPLATES_DIR="$HOME/Templates"
