Disk Usage Analyzer Issues

Fri Aug 16, 2019 4:46 pm
Hello! I'm a relatively new user of Plasma. I love it. This is my first post to the forum.

I was looking for a Disk Usage Analyzer. Discover did not seem to have a KDE one (I also looked outside Discover and did not find a KDE Disk Usage Analyzer).

So I installed "Disk Usage Analyzer" which is a Gnome app whose "real" name is actually "Baobob." The app works fine; however, If there is a KDE Disk Usage Analyzer, please share info.

The problem I'm having is launching it. The only way I've figured out how to launch it is via the "launch" tab in Discover. This is very slow.

When pressing the Super Key which opens the Application launcher widget, the search box returns 0 results for "Disk Usage" and for "Baobob."

Is there something I need to do to get Plasma to know that about Disk Usage Analyzer/Baobob?

Thanks.

I'm running KDE Neon 5.16.4 with KDE Frameworks version 5.61. This is all running on a VirtualBox 6.0.10 VM with 4.3 GB of RAM on a Windows 10 laptop.

Try "Filelight", it should be installable through Discover. It even looks like the Gnome Disk Analyzer, funny because Filelight has been around for ever.

Why do you want to use GTK applications when there are equivalent applications from KDE on Plasma?

Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ...
