Hi. I just installed Kate version 3.14.8 on Linux. I am trying to do a block select of some text and then move it over (for example) by 1 character to the right. I would also like to be able to block select an empty space in the editor (say 10 lines by 1 character wide) and then start typing and have that text show up on all 10 lines at once. These 2 functions of block select don't seem to be working properly on the LINUX version.

I also installed Kate for Windows and the block select works perfectly in this version. There seems to be a big difference between the Windows version and the Linux version.

Also, I remember in a different version of Kate (for LINUX) that I used at my old company I could block select a section and then there were buttons I could click to move the text left or right by 1 character. I don't know what version of Kate this was. Was I just imagining this capability existed? Maybe it's still there in my current version but I can't seem to find it. on the Windows version I can still do this but I need to move it with the mouse. Are those left shift/right shift buttons hiding somewhere?

Thanks!

-Steve
