Hello,
I want to use Kate as my text editor for smaller Python projects, but it's quite annoying that every time I want to use auto completion, I have to press Ctrl+Space. How can I get it to work automatically when I type, so that I don't have to press any key?

Did you try pressing Tab?

Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ...

Yes, but that doesn't do anything except inserting 4 time space. I just want to type for example
Code: Select all
pr
and than there should pop up the option to enter
Code: Select all
print
by pressing Tab/Enter.

For me, when starting to type a word already in the text, the suggestion comes up and pressing Tab completes it, eventually pressing Tab repeatedly if there are several suggested options. You can't expect autocompletion to work if a word is not already in the text, though.

Sadly, that is what I was looking for.

Well, this is the default behavior, what did you change this is not so for you?

It works the same for me as it does for you. I get the words already in the text and if I press ctrl+space the possible programming words are suggested.
