Moin,
I use kwallet as my credential managemer for many years . Since last week my password is not accepted any more.
and after I type in my password:
I compared the file
with the file in my daily backup: The md5sum is identical. I also checked that this is the file that is loaded by kwalletd at the start (I did this, because I found a very old version in ./.kde/share/apps/kwallet/). Also the kdewallet.salt is identical with the version in the backup (timestamp is also very old, but this is okay because I did not changed this password for years).
ii kwalletmanager 4:19.12.3-0xneon+18.04+bionic+build32 amd64 secure password wallet manager ii libkf5wallet-bin 5.68.0-0xneon+18.04+bionic+build39 amd64 Secure and unified container for user passwords. ii libkf5wallet-data 5.68.0-0xneon+18.04+bionic+build39 all Secure and unified container for user passwords. ii libkf5wallet5:amd64 5.68.0-0xneon+18.04+bionic+build39 amd64 Secure and unified container for user passwords. ii libkwalletbackend5-5:amd64 5.68.0-0xneon+18.04+bionic+build39 amd64 Secure and unified container for user passwords. ii libpam-kwallet-common 4:5.18.4.1-0xneon+18.04+bionic+build48 all KWallet integration with PAM (common files) ii libpam-kwallet5 4:5.18.4.1-0xneon+18.04+bionic+build48 amd64 KWallet (Kf5) integration with PAM Now I am at a loss, where can I go on looking? |

Hi there. I believe there was an endianness change. You will need to build kwallet in the opposite endianness. Apparently a bug in upstream patch after change in Kwallet. However even after my most recent update still experience issues so I compiled Kwallet again.
**edit** You can clone and compile Kwallet with the patch https://invent.kde.org/frameworks/kwall ... requests/1. If you want I can upload the bin for you somewhere. What CPU do you have? |
