Hello I have a computer that was put aside for a long time that I want to start using again.
I have installed the System KDE 3.5 and also the Windows XP. I don't remember the root password for KDE and also the password for Windows XP, but I can enter in the KDE since the user doesn't have a password. My question is can I have access to the windows XP files to make a copy before format from the KDE system. I don't have root access. Thanks. |

From within KDE, if you mount the Windows partition, you should be able to read the files.
I haven't used KDE 3.x in ages, but it comes with Konqueror and should be able to mount Windows partitions.
Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ... |
