How to know if transparency is supported/enabled?

Hello all,

I want to run a few scripts after the user logs in, to do that I have added the scripts in the Autostart. However when the script is run it doesn't have the transparency of the Konsole enabled. I have circumvented this by adding a simple sleep:

Code: Select all
#!/bin/bash
sleep 10
konsole --geometry 515x100+565+0 -e /bin/bash /home/coret/scripts/ping_test.sh
exit

Is there a variable or file that I can monitor in the script to figure it out if the transparency is activated?

Also, on the same note, I have multiple monitors and using the command "konsole --geometry" always opens the terminal in one specific monitor. Is there a way to select what monitor to open?

Thanks
