Hi everybody,
Now, in this difficult covid time I have to work from home as many other people must. A server is located in my office with SuSE Linux 42.1 whereas at home my notebook runs with Leap 15.2 and Plasma 5.20.4. The connection is carried out by means of vpn. I frequently have to access many documents using Libreoffice (7.0.3.1). To my saddens I discovered that digging into two or more directories to open a document on server takes ages, in fact the connection is useless. The same applies when trying to list a directory on server by means of Dolphin. I checked Libreoffice options and uncheck the box "Use Libreoffice Dialogue Boxes", and all at sudden documents are listed and opened in a second, so to speak. But this change applies Libreoffice only, the Dolphin speed remains at the snail speed. The connection to a server using Filezilla for example is as fast as possible. I would appreciate any useful advice. Merry Christmas And Happy New Year 2021. Bojan |
