I've just installed Kubuntu 20.04 LTS, and it seems it ships with old versions of a lot of tools. KDE is at 5.18.5 (OK, I don't need to update that), but Spectacle is one full major version behind (19.2.3), which is still annoying AF to take screenshots of areas straight to the clipboard with (i.e., it can't from the UI).
I don't know if the new version has fixed this, but how do I install the current version (20.12.2) anyway? |

Nevermind, I discovered Flameshot, which is far, far more convenient than my previous screenshotting flow of capturing with Spectacle then editing with Pinta.
https://github.com/flameshot-org/flameshot Plus, it's maintained on GitHub, not on whatever obscure repo + the outdated Bugzilla instance at bugs.kde.org. |
